Ladies of 798 Donation

We are blessed by many friends and supporters here at Camp ASCCA. This year we gained a new organization friend, Ladies of 798! The homepage of the Ladies of 798 website best describes what their organization is all about…

”Our organization consists of pipeline spouses, of all union trades, who have banded together, and are united like a family. We pledge to represent our organization with integrity, dedication, caring, and loyalty. We are committed to meeting the needs of our pipeline family and surrounding communities by reaching across America with our spirit to serve. Our vision is to lend a helping hand to those in need, by assisting people to live healthier and happier lives through our investments in the communities we serve. We are constantly looking for ways to reach out to all pipeline families for their support, help, and ideas. We are always looking for people who want to be associated with our organization and that share the same vision in making our organization successful.”

We were introduced to the Ladies of 798 organization through our generous friend Mrs. Bonnie Turner. She’d gotten to know Camp ASCCA’s mission and has donated through another organization she belongs to. She was on her way to a Ladies 798 meeting in Tulsa, OK in April 2012. She informed us that she’d nominated Camp ASCCA as a recipient charity for their fundraising at the spring meeting. We were excited to be involved and that our mission of serving children and adults in the summer camp environment will be spread to members across the nation!

Here’s the poster we made up for her to take!

It seems the meeting was a great success and the group raised lots of money for their charity work. Mrs. Bonnie visited Camp ASCCA soon after she got back and presented us with a check for $2,139! This money will help our “campership fund” which gives money to campers with special needs who are in need of financial assistance attend summer camp. Camp ASCCA gives over $250,000 in free services each summer.
