Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Little Italy to Camp! Mark McClurg, the owner of Little Italy Auburn, and one of his one of his line cooks, Sydney Saxon came to hang out with some of our campers, and show us how to make some dough. Everyone received their own dough, they showed each table how to kneed, flatten, and even toss it, like a real pizza chef! Mark and Sydney were incredibly patient and encouraging, making sure each camper felt included and successful through every step.
The campers loved this opportunity. The Little Italy staff mentioned how happy they were to be here , and to be doing what they love with such special people. They enjoyed seeing the campers finding excitement and joy in the things they do everyday. Getting to know and laugh with our ASCCA friends was truly a highlight for them. it was a fantastic day, filled with laughter, learning, and newfound dough tossing skills. We are so grateful Mark and Sydney took the time to create such a wonderful experience for our campers!
