On May 15th, seventh and eighth grade students from Loachapoka High School visited Camp ASCCA for a day away from the classroom doing outdoor activities like archery, boat rides, water slide, and cargo net. The students were split into four groups and sent with the ASCCA specialist at each activity. With very few clouds in the sky, students and teachers were encouraged to keep covered with sunscreen and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Before noon, the groups visited two of the four programs on the schedule and then came together at the picnics by the front office to enjoy lunch together. After lunch, the groups rotated through the final two programs that they had not yet participated in. No matter the challenge, each student approached the activities with determination and a smile. By 1:45 p.m. students headed towards the bus, so that they could make it back to school before the final bell rang.
We had a great day with the students from Loachapoka and look forward to future adventures with the school! If you are interested in checking out more of the day’s activities, visit our Flickr page.
