For 50 years, Camp ASCCA has changed lives, often quietly in the stillness of small moments, through glances exchanged, meals shared, and memories made. ASCCA is a place where love is shared every day. For some, that love is not always platonic. Camp ASCCA has a way of bringing people together, whether for only a week or for a lifetime. In our limited series, “Love, the ASCCA Way,” we are sharing love stories that began at Camp ASCCA and continued long beyond the ASCCA gates.
Here, connections form in ways people do not always recognize at the time. Those connections can change the trajectory of a life and create a story that lasts forever. That was exactly the case for Tiffany and Seth.

The summer of 1999 was Tiffany’s second at Camp ASCCA, serving as a Program Staff in Training. She was just 14, turning 15, full of energy and excitement for another summer at Camp. That same summer, Seth joined the Program Staff, working with horseback. The two struck up a conversation during camp and continued talking long after the summer ended. Seth was from New Site, Alabama, and Tiffany lived in Alex City, only about a 15- minute drive away. Their connection grew, and their first official date was on September 3, 1999. From that day on, they were inseparable.
Their story at Camp ASCCA was more than just a summer romance. Tiffany’s dad and Seth’s dad had gone to school together from first grade through junior college, and their moms’ families had been friends, neighbors, and churchmates when they were younger. Camp didn’t just bring Tiffany and Seth together; it reunited two families with shared histories and deep connections.

Years later, Tiffany and Seth celebrated their love and shared history at Camp by getting married on June 24, 2006. They were surrounded by family and friends, many of whom they met during their time at Camp ASCCA.
For Tiffany and Seth, Camp ASCCA was so much more than just a summer job. It was a journey that would quickly shape the lifetime they would share.
