Sports Camp
Session 3
Sports Camp began today with a basketball clinic put on by some of the wheelchair basketball players at Auburn University. In addition to our special guests we also had some pretty fantastic moustaches in spirit of Marvelous Moustache Wednesday. Sports campers spent the better part of the morning teaching basic skills to all of our Sports Campers and finished up playing a game. There was even a rousing “War Eagle!” to end the morning session.
After breakfast the campers tackled the zip tower, our larger of the two zip line activities. Campers had the option of climbing up the 90 degree rock wall or the adapted rock wall which is at a less steep incline. To end sports camp today, one of our Senior CITs gave lessons in tennis. Campers learned the basics as well as some fun games.
All in all, it was a successful day for our sports campers, and tomorrow we have a pretty exciting day planned. Look forward to a full report on all of the water activities the campers will be participating in tomorrow!
