As we continue our “Meet the Program Staff” series, our next introduction is with Nature Director, Mary Ryan. Mary is from Enterprise, Alabama and has served as a camp counselor for several years.
Mary actually applied to be camp counselor again this year when Camp Director, Matt Rickman, asked for her help with Nature. Being on Program staff is a new experience for her, but Mary says she loves it!
Just like everyone else on the Farm staff, Mary’s day begins at about 6:30 a.m. She helps out with morning clean up at the barn and also gets to interact with the animals a bit, as she feeds and plays with them.
Most of Mary’s interactions with the campers will include nature walks, exploring living streams and other fun, environmental activities in the Dunn Center. Mary’s really excited about getting the campers involved and hopes that this encourages them to enjoy the outdoors a little more!
