Shannon is so excited for her first summer her at ASCCA working as our Arts and Crafts/Music Program staff member. Apart from camp, she is a rising freshman at Mississippi State University where she will be studying Political Science on a Pre-Law track with hopes of pursuing a career as a lawyer advocating for people with disabilities.
Shannon heard about ASCCA while visiting on a weekend with a guest camp, and she absolutely fell in love with the atmosphere and mission. She knew she wanted to work at a camp this summer as her favorite childhood memories stemmed from summer camp and the positive impact her counselors had on her. She is most looking forward to all of the dances, and having the opportunity to have a positive influence on her campers while sharing her love for art with them. During Camp Seale Harris and Alabama Pre/Post Adoption Camp, Shannon served as a Program Floater. As a Program Floater, she assisted our staff with activities for our guest camps, but she is eager to step into her new role. A boring fact about Shannon is that she has a book collection she has never read, but continually adds to.
