Get to know our 2023 Program Staff!
Today we are welcoming yet another familiar face back to Camp ASCCA! Meet Maddie Burdette. Maddie will be joining our adventure staff this year. She chose adventure staff to try something different, and adventure has always been a favorite for her and her campers.
Maddie is from Auburn, AL, and is attending Auburn University, pursuing a degree in collaborative special education.
You may recognize Maddie from the previous four summers. She has worked as a CIT, counselor, and is now program staff. Maddie heard about Camp ASCCA from a babysitting job. She first chose to work at ASCCA because it was unlike anything she had ever done before and wanted an opportunity to learn more about people with disabilities in an inclusive environment.
Like most, what keeps Maddie coming back to Camp year after year is the campers and the relationships she has built with them.
Maddie says, “My favorite thing about Camp ASCCA is here, we live how the world should be and do not deny anybody the chance to do something.”
