This week we are getting to know our program staff for summer 2019. Meet Lance Chayka! Lance is from Jackson’s Gap, Alabama, and he is the nature director.
Lance grew up hearing about Camp ASCCA and came on field trips while he was in school. This is Lance’s fifth summer here. His favorite part about camp is being able to come out and meet so many different types of people and have the opportunity to mingle with them.
Lance is so excited to share his knowledge about nature with the campers and help them be able to learn even more. This summer he cannot wait to learn more and build special bonds with other people. “It builds summer by summer and has built me as a person,” he says.
Lance attends Southern Union Community College. In Lance’s free time he likes to explore outside whether it be at a state park lounging in his hammock or riding bikes. An interesting fact about Lance is that growing up he had an extremely deep voice and it didn’t match up with the size of his body!
