This week we are getting to know our 2019 summer program staff. Meet Maggie Barnard! Maggie is from Tupelo, Mississippi and she will be working our aquatics this summer. This will be Maggie’s fourth summer working at Camp ASCCA.
Maggie’s favorite part about Camp has been building connections with not only the campers but with the staff as well. The friendships she has built with the campers are on a deeper level and she loves always getting to see them the following year. The connections she has with the other staff members are friendships that last all year long. Maggie says that they are a great group to be a part of.
She is most looking forward to being able see some of her favorite campers from the previous year and being able to continue the friendships that she made with them. “I wait all year to see their faces again,” Maggie says. Maggie is hoping this summer she gains more experience for her future career, has the opportunity to build more relationships and truly a great summer overall.
Besides Camp, Maggie attends The University of South Alabama and she is studying Recreational Therapy. In her free time she enjoys swimming, reading and catching up on her naps at Camp. A fun fact about Maggie is that she has been coming to Camp ASCCA since she was six years old.
