The beginning of summer means that it’s time to get to know our 2024 Program Staff members! Today, we introduce you to a new member, Will Parker!
Will is from Decatur, Alabama, but recently moved to Opelika. Will is joining our program staff as a member of the outdoor education staff and will be directing nature this summer!
Will is attending Western Carolina University in North Carolina and majoring in environmental science. He is also receiving a minor in environmental health and chemistry.
Will is no stranger to Camp ASCCA. He grew up attending Camp Seale Harris, a camp for children with diabetes that rents ASCCA’s facilities multiple times throughout the year. He attended CSH for 10 years, both as a camper and a counselor. After hearing many stories about people’s time at ASCCA, he decided to see it himself!
Will is looking forward to meeting all our campers and having the opportunity to teach them more about nature and get to know them personally. He knew that Camp ASCCA would be a different challenge that he wasn’t used to, and wanted to give it a try.
Will says, “Never be afraid to try something new. That’s what I did with environmental science, now I love it. I plan to make a career out of it.”
