Mix it Up! at Lake Martin exceeds fundraising goal for camper with austism!

As reported in an earlier entry, Mix it Up! at Lake Martin held an Autism Walk/5k to promote autism awareness and raise money to send a child with autism to summer camp at Camp ASCCA!

The event was held on May 19, 2013 in downtown Dadeville, AL. Mix it Up! owner Wendy Hodge along with part-time employee Ansley Duck coordinated the event and raised $753.43 for a campership!

The cost to send a camper to Camp ASCCA during the summer is $695. We appreciate Ansley and Wendy’s enthusiasm and efforts to promote autism awareness in the community.

We would especially like to thank the walkers and runners at the event. It was a great time had by all and we are all looking forward to the event next year!

Camp ASCCA employee Dana Rickman is shown accepting the donation from Ansley Duck in front of Mix it Up! at Lake Martin’s indoor “Tiki Hut!” Stop by this summer when you are in Dadeville!

The campership money will be applied to a camper who has autism and will attend summer camp this year.
