For tonight’s activities, cabins swapped places from yesterday’s activities. Davis, Chicaksaw, Cherokee, Redstick, and Crow painted soul stones and made time capsules, and Moundville, Creek, Choctaw, and Cheaha went to a pool party!
After taking a group photo with their cabin, the campers searched for their soul stones to paint. One camper even found a broken piece of sidewalk to use for his. The activity turned into a paint war with campers and staff painting each others’ faces and arms.
The group cabin photos were printed and everyone’s name written onto the back. The photos were put into the individual cabins’ time capsules along with the notes written by each camper. The soul stone and time capsule activity ended with a dance line and a dance circle with everyone cheering on each other while they danced in the center.
Our campers that made soul stones and time capsules yesterday went to have fun in the pool tonight. As always, our aquatics staff made sure everyone had taken a swim test or had on a life jacket. Campers had an awesome time swimming, floating, and playing ball. Some of our campers even helped each other in learning how to swim!
We have been having an amazing week so far in Session 5 and be sure to check our Flickr, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for updates on the rest of this week and all of our summer activities!
