Orientation Week
With ASCCA just around the corner there is a plethora of activity around camp and the buzz of anticipation is in the air. Earlier this week our counselors arrived for a week of orientation and training. The ASCCA standard of excellence is set very high and these counselors have a lot to learn in order to achieve that standard.
Among the standard rules and regulations of any organization these counselors must also learn the ASCCA way, camp songs, proper transfers, program rotations, feeding and dressing techniques and so much more. This week they are rotating through a combination of lectures and some hands on training. These counselors are working hard to reach some pretty lofty goals.
Of course, we include fun in everything we do here at camp– even training. This staff has played some great team building and “get to know you” games. They have also had the opportunity to participate in some of our program areas like the ever-popular water slide!
