Throughout Session 1 of Camp ASCCA, we had the pleasure of having a few Operation Military Kids (OMK) groups here at camp. This program is something new for Camp ASCCA and has been met with great success.
OMK is an organization for children affected by military deployment of a family member and aims to connect those children and families with other organizations in the community. This week, the special partnership between OMK and Camp ASCCA catered to military families with children who have a disability.
This week we had 9 awesome families come to camp and experience a typical week here with the whole family in tow. We even brought in special staff members to work with the families and help out at activities and during meals to give families that extra security. We are so grateful to our military families for the service they’ve done for this country and have been so happy to be a resource for them this week and into the future.
Check back after the weekend to see a video interveiw of an OMK family detailing their experience here at Camp ASCCA and be sure to look at their facebook page!
