Yesterday was the first day of Session 6, and the energy is exceeding all expectations. Check-in went smoothly with every camper making it to their cabins quickly, so that they could enjoy every moment with their counselors.
The Girl Scouts from Troop 7282 have done it again! They made one last donation to Camp ASCCA before the end of the summer. This last donation was an amazing picnic table for us to use however we please. They do these donations and activities with us because they care about what we represent here, and they are working to get their Silver Award. It is the second highest award that a girl scout can earn.
This award is a community based award. In the first step to the Silver Award, you have to figure out what you care most about in your community. Whether it’s animals, forestry, housing or anything else, it can turn into a silver project. You are then supposed to build your team, or you can complete the project as an individual. Next, you explore your community and choose your project so you can start developing. The Girl Scouts have donated games that they built, made activities for the campers to continue to be active in the past, and now, they made us this amazing picnic table. We appreciate this partnership with Troop 7282, and the many things they do for Camp each summer!
