Parting Traditions

It is tradition that on our last night at Camp ASCCA we host a dance for our campers; tonight was that night. Campers and counselors showed up to dinner dressed in their best from head to toe.

After dinner, we shared a few hours of dancing and singing around the dining hall. Everyone participated and had a fantastic time – the perfect way to end an incredible week at camp.

Following the dance, we watched a slideshow comprised of pictures of our campers and staff taken this week in session one. Reflecting on the memories we made during our week together is a favorite camp tradition for many.

Another camp tradition is the Goodnight Song. Each and every night, we join hands and sing our parting song. Tonight was no different. So in honor of session one, I leave you with a lyric from our Goodnight Song:

“God gave me you. It was then that I knew He’d given me more than my share. So campers hold hands and say we’ll never part. For Camp ASCCA and all our friends will live within our hearts.”
