Yesterday started out as a cloudy day but very breezy, and everyone here at Camp was definitely grateful. Even the zipline was pretty chill compared to most days. Due to the weather, we had a splash filled pool party, and I am sure all of the teens loved it!
This week there are many campers using wheelchairs which means a lot of transfers, but the counselors have been handling the transitions well at the pool party. They looked so happy to enjoy the time with their campers and give them all of their attention. Many of the campers floated around with their counselor and had life jackets on the entire time during the party. Here at Camp ASCCA it’s safety first then fun.
I took a bunch of pictures and just seeing all of the campers with all different abilities through the same lens brought me so much happiness. They all had huge smiles on their faces and nothing was going to wipe it away. One counselor’s camper is blind, so she was letting her touch everything in the pool like the wall and the floaties while she explained to her what they were. I loved getting to be a part of that, and they both smiled because she was learning new things with every second.
