Programs, Rain, and Scavengers

Session Seven

Today started out like a normal day: flag raising at 7:50, breakfast at 8, then a fun filled morning of program rotations. However, after rest period the weather turned on us. Though it thundered and rained enough to postpone our program rotations, campers still got to play rainy day games in the gym, play cards, or make some arts and crafts with our adventure staff.

We were worried that the weather would continue on through the rest of the night and force us to change our evening program, but we got lucky! The rain subsided before dinner, so we were clear to set up our awesome scavenger hunt. ASCCA campers separated into cabins and AHIF campers separated into their program groups for some friendly competition.

Campers were charged with the task of finding random objects such as a purple hair brush, a dogwood tree leaf, and a feather. They also got to directly compete with all the other groups to find the biggest pinecone, and have a campers in the best toilet paper toga and craziest hair. It was a really closely scored game and every group did really well. In the end, it was Group 1 of the AHIF campers that came out on top. Cheaha cabin came in a very close second place.
