Though the day started out rainy and dreary we still managed to have another fantastic day. We had special guest Kendall Simmons, two time Super Bowl Champion and Auburn Alum, speak to our campers this morning about living with diabetes. Kendall was diagnosed with diabetes a few years into his very succesful career in the NFL and continued to play even after his diagnosis. He is retired now because of other injuries and has dedicated his life to educating the general population about diabetes. One of his great passions is talking to kids about how they can lead a very normal life even with diabetes.
After lunch we resumed normal activities which included tubing, pool, water slide, fishing, archery, sports and games, and arts and crafts. We had beautiful weather this afternoon once the storm passed. We ended the night with a fun game of Minute 2 Win It! A challenge that pitted cabins against each other in short and silly games to produce a final winner.
