Rooftop Friends

The idea for Rooftop Friends originated from the Biblical story of a group of friends who assisted their disabled friend to bypass the crowd by lowering him from a rooftop to meet Jesus. As stated on their website: Rooftop Friends, in partnership with Young Meadows Presbyterian Church, seeks to minster to and come along side individuals and families touched by disabilities. Rooftop Friends provides many activies and outreach programs, one of which is an Annual Alabama Family Retreat which was held for the second year at Camp ASCCA last week. Ruth Brewbaker, the retreat Director, stated the group had a “wonderfully amazing ‘God at work’ week!”

I was able to visit at the beginning of their week at camp to speak with the volunteers and meet a few families as they were arriving. Everyone was so excited to get their week started! So, get ready … next year’s Retreat is already being planned!

If your church, school, civic/service club or group would be interested in scheduling me as a speaker please email: allison@campascca.org
