Several area organizations received donations March 26 during the Enterprise Rotary Club’s annual $10K allocations meeting.

The donations were raised through a club fundraiser where its members raised $20,900 for area non-profit organizations.

This year, 15 local organizations were chosen including the Boy Scouts of America, which will use the donation to fund part of the 2013 Fall Rally Toolbox, which is designed to support Cub Scouts of Enterprise.

Boy’s/Girl’s State recipients will use the donation for registration costs of Enterprise High School students.

Camp ASCCA (Alabama’s Special Camp for Children and Adults), will use the donation to benefit the Campership Fund, a scholarship fund provides assistance to campers from Coffee County to attend the camp.

Christian Mission Centers, Inc. of Enterprise will put the donation towards the Women’s and Children’s Shelter Facility.

The Coffee County Extension System donation will be used to support the general 4-H and livestock programs as well as the Coffee County Health Initiative.

The donation to the Distinguished Young Women of Coffee County Scholarship Program (formerly known as the Junior Miss Scholarship program), will be used to provide for one of the many scholarships available through the program.

The Enterprise Christian Youth Camp’s donation will provide for two children to participate in this year’s Royal Family Kids Camp.

The Enterprise Rotary Playground Fund donation will go toward the construction of a shaded area near the newly constructed Splash Pad at Johnny Henderson Park.

The Enterprise YMCA will use the donation toward the purchase a basketball goal and bleachers for the day care program.

A donation to the Special Olympics of Coffee and Dale counties will go toward the Special Olympic Track and Field event.

The Wiregrass Emergency Pregnancy Service, a pro-life organization, which assists women facing unplanned pregnancies, will use the donation toward baby cribs and car seats.

Wiregrass United Way serves 37 local charitable organizations, which use United Way funds to leverage grant money. The Rotary donation will go toward Coffee County’s goal, which would qualify the Wiregrass United Way for significant matching donations.

A donation to the Coffee County Family Services Center will be used to cover costs associated with the Assessment and Referral program.

The donation to the New Brockton High School Ambassadors will provide school supplies to students in need, but can’t afford to purchase.

Also accepting a donation is the Jerry B. Brunson Enterprise Rotary Club Foundation, which is a non-profit organization created to support the activities of the Rotary Club.
