We were joined by fifth-grade students from Saint James School April 9-11 for their annual Environmental Science Camp! Students, teachers, and chaperones arrived Tuesday afternoon for a fun yet educational field trip.
Upon arrival, Camp ASCCA was presented with a donation! St. James students held their annual Trojan Day fundraiser earlier this year, and 10% of the money raised was given to ASCCA. St. James has been attending Camp ASCCA for almost 30 years for their Science Camp. We look forward to serving this group every year.
After receiving our generous donation, we had orientation with the students before breaking into our groups for program rotations. Groups attended three programs: canoeing on Lake Martin, the ziptower, and team building!
Tuesday night, the students participated in a scavenger hunt before going to the BcK4T to hang out, play arcade games, and play our gaming simulator.
Wednesday, students had four program rotations. The groups participated in bungee trampoline, forestry, fishing, and living streams. It was a day full of educational and fun activities made for everyone. After the activities, we ended the day with karaoke and had a late-night snack with cookies and milk.
Thursday morning, before departing Camp, the students finished their rotations with the ziptower, canoeing, and team building.
St. James visits Camp ASCCA every year, and it’s always so much fun. We had such a memorable time with these students, and we’re already looking forward to next year.
Thank you, St. James, for your generosity and continued support over the years! We’ll see you soon.
