Scuba Diving at Camp!

Today campers got do something a little different for a water activity.

One of the board members for Camp ASCCA, Tom Mann, and his associate Casey Smith brought scuba gear so campers could try out scuba diving in the pool. Tom and Casey work with Adventure Sports in Montgomery.

The campers were excited for this activity because it wasn’t the typical swim in the pool.

Each camper who participated in scuba was fit with a goggle mask and a vest that held an oxygen tank. Counselors and program staff were able to get in on the action with campers by using their secondary oxygen line that was connected to each tank. Campers stayed under the water for as long as they wanted to. It was a true swimming pool scuba experience.
