Every session, campers get the opportunity to sign up for specific activities that have limited spots. The ziptower is one of the most coveted sign-up activities here at Camp ASCCA. To reach the top of the ziptower, campers must either climb a 30-foot rock wall, or reach the top via belay by our wonderful summer staff.
Because the ziptower is a super popular activity during the summer, it is important that staff is well-equipped with skills to ensure that campers feel as safe as possible while ziplining. There are several different parts of the ziptower that all work together to give campers the safest zipline experience possible.
On Monday of Session 1, several campers gathered excitedly at the ziptower when an unfortunate storm fell upon us. Despite the rain, there was no lightning which meant we could continue the fun!
During this mild summer storm, Tre Marbury and other members of the Adventure Staff stayed on the many working parts of the ziptower to make sure that campers remained safe while coming on and off of the ziptower. Counselors and program staff stayed on the ground to ensure campers who were waiting for their turn were as comfortable and dry as possible.
This instance is just one example of how our staff here at Camp ASCCA exemplifies teamwork to make sure our campers have the best summer experience. No matter the circumstance, Camp ASCCA will find a way to make sure everyone is safely having a good time.
