With Camp ASCCA being located right in the heart of Lake Martin, we are no strangers to the intensity of Alabama’s heat. Luckily, our campers have plenty of opportunities to cool down with several options for fun water activities.
One of our most beloved summer activities here at Camp is our waterslide. Our waterslide is roughly 25 feet tall, and is powered by lake water. On a hot day, there’s absolutely nothing like catching a breeze while sliding in some cool water!
Campers and counselors walk through the Camp chapel to get to the top of the waterslide. Once they reach the top, our aquatics staff helps each camper get situated before flying down the slide. For our non-ambulatory campers, our well-equipped counselors and program staff help transfer them from wheelchairs into our waterslide tube for a summer experience that simply can’t be beat.
