It is no secret summer has started as the heat rises a little each day. Today, the heat may reach around 95 degrees with no chance of rain. Campers and staff found creative ways to stay hydrated while also getting a tan!
One way campers are cooling off is through Camp ASCCA’s water activities. The pool, tubing, waterslide, and splash pad are all big hits for rotations this week. Everyone is excited to put on their swimsuits because they know they will be splashed with water soon! Sunglasses are also a must to protect everyone’s eyes from the sun. Although we have many activities for campers to cool off, how do campers stay hydrated during meals and break?
Camp Director, Matt Rickman, told everyone at breakfast this morning the importance of drinking water. Dehydration can make people sick, so staff urges campers to drink plenty of water during meals and to bring a water bottle to each activity. Camp ASCCA has hydration stations set up all over so people can fill their water bottles at any time of day.
Heat is no joke in Alabama, but Camp ASCCA knows exactly how to stay safe and have fun! Safety and health is important to Camp ASCCA. Through hydration stations and water activities, it is clear the heat is no problem!
