What better treat to have in the summer than ice cream? On a hot day, a cold snack is the perfect way to cool off. Therefore, on Tuesday, campers went to the barn to make homemade ice cream.
Once at the barn, campers were handed a Ziploc bag which would be used to pour the ingredients into. Once everyone had a bag, counselors poured ice into the bag which felt great as it was still hot in the barn. Next came the milk which was in a smaller bag. After everyone had milk and ice it was time for the final ingredient, salt. Salt was poured on the ice and the plastic bag with milk was placed in the bag. Then it was time to shake! Campers shook all the ingredients together for around five minutes. Once the ice cream bag was nice and fluffy, it was time to eat! Campers enjoyed their tasty treats while watching the barn animals.
Ice cream is the best after a hot day and Camp ASCCA did not disappoint! Campers and staff enjoyed making ice cream just as much as they enjoyed eating it. It was the perfect snack to fill everyone’s stomachs until dinner!
