The Session 4 counselor of the week was very special because not only was he counselor of the week, but one of his campers was also named first-time camper of the week.
Mickey is also a first year counselor, like many of our other counselors of the week, and special education major at Huntingdon College.
Mickey found out about Camp ASCCA through Houston county volunteering when they came to camp. He found the volunteering rewarding and thought that being a counselor would be even more rewarding.
A few of Mickey’s favorites are chicken tenders for a meal (who doesn’t love them?) and fishing for an activity.
There are a million different things that Camp ASCCA can teach someone about themselves, other people and life in general, but one of the most important things that Mickey has learned is that you can never judge a book by it’s cover.
