Every teen week Camp ASCCA hosts a prom night for all the campers. Using the dining hall as a dance floor, campers and staff had a great night dancing to music, dressing up, and even voting for a prom queen and king! The music was loud and the lights were bright as campers felt the beat on the dance floor.
To start the night off, campers and their dates made their way to the photo booth for a small photo shoot before the big dance. Dressed in their best outfits, everyone looked amazing and felt their best as they posed for pictures. Of course no dance is complete without food! Dinner included chicken cordon bleu with beans and rice. There was also a desert table set up with cookies and cheese straws.
After dinner it was time to dance! Program staff played music through speakers so everyone could dance to the beat. Campers and staff showed off their best dance moves as songs played throughout the night. We even danced to different styles of music like line-dancing! As the night came to a close, it was finally time to announce the Summer 2023 Prom queen and king.
Staff and campers stood around in a circle as the prom king and queen were announced. The king was announced first as Laiton’s name was said through the speakers. Next, Albry was announced prom queen. As everyone cheered, the prom queen and king had their first dance together before everyone joined back in before finishing the night.
Camp ASCCA had a great time at the 2023 Prom! Campers danced, made friends, and ate great food. One thing is for sure, Prom 2023 was a night to remember!
