Yesterday, campers arrived in a different fashion than usual. This week is Mobile Rotary Week here at Camp ASCCA, and the campers and staff are very excited to see what this week will bring us. A group of staff left early Saturday afternoon to head to Mobile to pick up the campers and hit the road again Sunday to head back to Camp for the start of Session 5. When they arrived, campers could not wait to get off the bus to meet their counselor that they will be spending the week with.
After everyone arrived yesterday, we hit the ground running on activities. Last night was very similar to last week because the cabins split up making one half go to the pool for a pool party, and the other half enjoyed a night of free choice activities. We had fishing, canoeing, putt putt, bungee trampoline, the Wii room, and music and hammocks at the OutPost. With all these options available, it was hard for me to decide where I wanted to go.
I started out at fishing where campers and counselors enjoyed their time fishing together. After fishing, I made my way to the Wii room to watch some campers play each other in Wii Sports bowling. I made a few more stops that night, but one thought remained in my head and that is, “I am just happy it was Sunday because Sunday is when Camp starts back up again.”
