On Friday, people from around the country traveled to Camp for the Shepherd Center’s annual Adventure Skills Workshop. Shepherd Center is located in Atlanta, Georgia, and “is a private, not-for-profit hospital specializing in medical treatment, research and rehabilitation for people with spinal cord injury, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, spine and chronic pain, and other neuromuscular conditions.”
Participants at the workshop can choose from a variety of outdoor activities including: tubing, jet skiing, water skiing, scuba diving, all-terrain vehicles, and much more. The workshop specifically serves individuals with spinal cord injury or disease, acquired brain injury, multiple sclerosis and other neurological disorders. The event lasted until Sunday afternoon and included meals, lodging, activities, and a t-shirt.
Each year, we have the best time with everyone from Shepherd Center and this year was no different! Participants and staff always leave with some of the best adventure stories and a pretty decent sun tan! We look forward to next year’s workshop, and in the meantime, check out what it is like to experience the Adventure Skills Workshop below.
