Snake Night at Camp

Last night was not your normal night here at Camp ASCCA. Usually on Wednesday nights we have our talent show, and if it is not the talent show, we are running other evening programs. Last night was a little different because we had some reptiles come and visit us. This week has a party animal theme, so there’s nothing more fitting than having reptiles come pay us a visit.

After dinner everyone from Camp gathered in the basement of Lions Lodge to enjoy the presentation on reptiles. Yarbrough’s Educational Reptiles was the name of the show, and let me tell you, she had a lot of reptiles to show us last night. She brought with her several snakes, some lizards, a legless lizard, a snapping turtle, and a lot of other reptiles. It was interesting hearing all the special facts that she had on each reptile, and it made last night educational for everyone in attendance.

After her show, she allowed time for all the campers and staff to walk around and pet and even hold a lot of the reptiles. Everyone’s favorite seemed to be the python, and everyone had the chance to take a picture with it after the show. It was a great night for everyone and we would like to thank the Yarbrough’s Educational Reptiles for making that possible.
