The Solon & Martha Dixon Foundation of Andalusia nominated for 2015 Easter Seals Alabama Special Recognition Award

Camp ASCCA nominated The Solon & Martha Dixon Foundation of Andalusia to be a 2015 recipient of an Easter Seals Alabama Special Recognition Award. This award is presented to individuals, groups, or businesses for outstanding fundraising efforts or other activities supporting Easter Seals Alabama programs and services.

The nomination included the following description of the Foundation’s work: Mrs. Martha Dixon and the directors of the Solon & Martha Dixon Foundation remain dedicated to the mission of Camp ASCCA and are mindful of the needs of our campers. Camp ASCCA has been fortunate to receive contributions from the foundation for many capital projects over the past 20 years and appreciate their time and interest. This past year, the foundation was able to sponsor renovations to Davis Lodge – a facility that houses up to 32 campers and counselors.

The Easter Seals Alabama Annual Awards Luncheon was held on December 16, 2015 at Wynlakes Country Club in Montgomery. These awards celebrate the consumers, clients, staff, volunteers, organizations, and others that contribute to the mission of serving children and adults with disabilities in the state of Alabama through Easter Seals.

Dr. Jim Krudop, who is a former Camp ASCCA Board Chair, current Easter Seals Alabama Board member, and close friend to Martha Dixon, accepted on the Foundations behalf.
