Special Performance Time!

It’s the third day here at Camp, and everyone is still going strong! The kids have been so fun, and I’m sure all the counselors will be upset when they leave on Friday. But since they have to leave, we try to make every day different and more exciting than the last. Today was an awesome day at Camp, and all the kids could think of after lunch besides free choice was the concert that was scheduled after dinner. Ms. Charity Bowden performed an amazing concert for all of Camp ASCCA, and it was truly a treat!

This is not Charity’s first time coming to Camp ASCCA. She came last year for ASCCApalooza, and everyone loved her so much that she had to come back this year. She did an original song, covers and she even did yodeling. The song she wrote was so beautiful that you would think she was writing songs for a bunch of huge artists. As soon as she started, all the campers did was dance, dance and dance. They had a blast and you can tell through all the pictures.

Since the weather didn’t look promising, we held the concert in the infamous basement of Lions Lodge, which was an easier way for Charity to see all the campers engaging with her. They would come to the stage and request a bunch of songs just because they loved her voice. The campers requested songs by One Direction, Taylor Swift, and even Justin Bieber. She did all the high demand songs and even one of her personal favorites Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker. It was so loud in that basement because they knew every word to that song. Her performance wasn’t as long as before because she wanted time to take pictures with every camper, play with the campers and even sing the GoodNight Song with us. It was all smiles around the room for the entire night!
