Talent Show Tuesday!

Last night’s talent show was definitely one for the books! Due to some wacky weather we weren’t able to have it at the new OutPost building, but the fun didn’t stop. After dinner, everyone gathered around in the dining hall to enjoy the hidden talents of their fellow campers. We had a plethora of singers and dancer, some comedians, and even a banjo player!

During a brief intermission, campers and counselors from each cabin paired up and were given about 30 seconds to come up with an interesting talent to showcase in front of all their camp friends. These talents were intersting indeed! PR intern Clayton Smith had the honor of choosing our two finalists which were Counselor Rebecca Farr and Camper Anna Leigh King, as well as Counselor Luke Johnson and Camper Christopher Butler. Rebecca showed off her amazing horse sounding skills and Luke gave us all the acrobatic feels with his impressive back bend push-ups, while Christopher recited all 50 states in alphabetical order!

The final round of this camper and counselor competition was a dance battle between a different pair of campers and counselors from the finalist cabins. Social Media Specialist Kasey Langley was the judge of this one, giving the win to Counselor Maggie McBride and Camper Reagan Bush of Creek cabin! Both teams gave it their best shot and left it all on the dance floor.

The fun continued with more amazing acts from campers featuring special guests of their choosing! Speaking of special guests, campers Hal Lynn and Linda Strickland had the pleasure of being accompanied by the male counselors of Moundville cabin. These counselors were more than ready for their close-ups! They were all dressed to the nine in flowy, formal dresses, covered in sparkles and ruched to perfection. It was truly entertaining to say the least!

Before we wrapped up with our final acts and the Goodnight Song, Program Director Amber Cotney threw it back with a Backstreet Boys dance party! Everyone danced and sang along to one of their most popular hits, “I Want it That Way,” as they practiced for the real dance party that’s going down Thursday night! We couldn’t have asked for a more memorable and entertaining talent show to end the summer.

It might be our last talent show of the summer, but the week isn’t over yet. Stay tuned for more Session 7 fun on Flickr,Facebook,Twitter, Instagram and right here on our website!
