Last night, we had a talent show including performances from Davis, Chickasaw, Choctaw, and Moundville campers. Unfortunately, since it rained very hard while we were at dinner, we had to move it from the OutPost to the basement of Lions Lodge. Even though we were a little bummed about the rain, at least we were sheltered away from any rainy weather that could have come through.
The talent show was one of the sweetest things I had ever seen. Every camper and counselor were in their own little world just enjoying the relaxing time. There were at least twenty acts, and they all rocked the house. There were a couple in particular that definitely made me do a double take. Savanah is one of the cutest girls you’ll ever meet. She’s always wanting to learn people’s names and help them with anything. If she’s not doing that, she has a big smile on her face just so she can make your day better. She was a little shy at first, but she did an amazing job with singing “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys. Some may say she did even better than Ms. Keys, but we will leave that up for discussion later on.
Patrick was another camper that truly surprised us all. He is an extremely flexible being, to the point that he can put both of his feet behind his head and just roll back and forth. I’m sure everyone was confused when he got on the floor because he just went straight into his act, he didn’t need an introduction or anything. Also, he can bend his elbows all the way back which was crazy awesome. Right after he got off stage, a few of the campers were trying to see if they could do the same thing not knowing that was his secret power.
