Mike Hammonds, volunteer at The Alexander City Recycle Center, stopped by yesterday with a generous donation for Camp ASCCA. We are among 15 other organizations that the recycle center donates to. After 40 years the recycling center had to close their doors due to market conditions.
Hammonds started volunteering after his retirement and absolutely loved the work he was doing there. He has volunteered for over two years.
“If I were to win the lottery I would reopen the recycling center,” said Hammonds.
The Alexander City Recycle Center has been donating to Camp ASCCA for over 20 years. Their donation will go to our Campership Fund, helping children and adults with disabilites to attend summer camp. As sad as we are to see their work come to an end we appreciate everything they have done for us at Camp.
