As Session 5 comes to an end, I would like to take a look back on last night’s activities. Every Thursday night after dinner, we have an awards banquet where we give out awards to the best campers and staff from that week. This weeks awards banquet was nothing short of fun and exciting to watch as campers from Mobile Rotary were ready to see who had won.
The awards banquet always starts out with the program staff giving out their weekly award. An award can go to a camper for many reasons, but most of the time it is the campers who never gave up and always had a big smile on his or her face. A special congratulations to Ms. Clarissa, Mr. Ron, Ms. Michelle H., Ms. Kim, Ms. Donna Jo, Mr. Jimmy, Ms. Misty, Ms. Debbie, and Mr. Chad. All of these individuals won program awards last night.
After the program staff awards, Camp Director, Matt Rickman always gives out the award for Best Program Staff, which is voted on by counselors and fellow program staff. This weeks winner was Casey Little. Casey is a part of our adventure staff here at Camp. Congratulations Casey! Matt also gives out our best counselor award for the week, this week’s Best Counselor award goes to Rae Kelly. Congratulations Rae! It is well deserved!
The final two individual awards that are given out are the Best Camper awards. The Best Camper award goes to a guy and a girl who went above and beyond all week with their energy and friendship to everyone. This award is voted on by the counselors and program staff. This week’s winners are Ms. Felicia and Mr. Drew. Congratulations to both of them! We hope to see you next year.
Finally the award everyone’s been waiting on, Honor Cabin. Honor Cabin goes to the best cabin of the week, and it is given to the cabin who has been chanting all week, has kept their cabin clean, and has shown true cabin spirit. This week’s winner was Redstick. Congratulations Redstick, you guys deserved it!
