Not only is it a nice early fall morning, but we also got a nice surprise this morning!
Mr. Lynn Causey, Mr. Derryl Thompson, and Mr. Shaun Thompson stopped by today to make a donation from the Heart of Dixie Chevelle Club.
According to their website, the Heart of Dixie Chevelle Club is “a group of Alabama Chevelle enthusiasts who have formed a club to share our appreciation of these great cars. Our club mission is to provide a means of sharing information on parts, cars, and technical data. Additionally, we will promote the appreciation of 1964 – 1972 Chevelles, Malibus, El Caminos, and Nomads. This will be accomplished through sponsoring of Chevelle Shows, our web site, and attendance in various weekend cruises”.
Lynn and Derryl are both members of the club and they let us know that the club held their last car show in early September. Proceeds from the event went to charities and organizations the club supports, and they were kind enough to include Camp ASCCA! Additionally, the club made the $500 donation in honor of Shaun Thompson (who is Derryl’s son), who has been a regularly attending camper for many years. The donation will be for the Campership Fund, which allows for people with disabilities who cannot afford the full session fee to attend summer camp.
We are truly blessed to have such great friends be involved with organizations like these who understand and support Camp ASCCA mission of serving children and adults with disabilities.
*The 1970 Chevelle featured in this post belongs Mr. Derryl Thompson.
