Today kicked off the start of Teen Week here at Camp ASCCA! Teen week is a very fun and exciting week of the summer. As campers arrive, they are eager for their week of fun to begin. The typical first night of activities consists of our pool party and free choice activities. However, due to weather, we had a different activity.
During dinner, we had a little rain. This called for rainy-day activities. Tonight’s rainy-day activity was something we call “skit in a bag”. During skit in a bag, each cabin is given a large trash bag full of miscellaneous dress items and accessories. It is then up to the cabin to choreograph their skit or lip-sync performance! We had everything from Old Crow Medicine Band to Beyoncé being performed; making for a very entertaining night! The winners of the competition, first, second, and third place, receive points towards this week’s honor cabin.
Tonight, Moundville took third place with their performance of “That’s What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction. Cheaha came in second with “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” by Shania Twain. Our first-place winner of the night was Redstick who performed “Kung Fu Fighting” by Carl Douglas.
Despite the weather, tonight was a great way to start our week! Everyone had a blast dancing, singing, and laughing at silly outfits!
