It was Talent Show Day!!! Yesterday was a very relaxed day at camp. It started out with the sun by nine this morning and then a nice rain shower around four. No one expected it to rain and everyone seemed pretty bummed because they thought the talent show would be cancelled. But, the show must go on! We held this talent show in one of the best places on Earth, The OutPost!
I remember sitting at dinner right before the talent show and all the campers could talk about was how excited they were for their big debut. They told me the songs they were singing, who was singing with them, and if they were dancing or not. You can definitely tell that this session of Camp ASCCA was the most excited for this special night. We had over seventy participants and special guests. Everyone was up and out of there seats for their favorite songs. We had a variety of songs from Gospel, Country and Rap. Of course the famous song God’s Plan by Drake and The Greatest Show from The Greatest Showman soundtrack has to be sung at every talent show this summer.
It was still a very hot day and we had to keep the fans lower than normal or the performers could possibly blow out someone’s ear drum. The only thing that was cooling the campers down was the infamous flavored italian ice by the program staff. We had so many flavors, it was a brain freeze in itself to try and say all the names. There were flavors like Tiger’s Blood, Green Apple, Cotton Candy and many more.
