Magical is the first word that comes to mind when I think about Camp ASCCA. As you know, I observe many activites and campers all throughout the day and today was no different. I got to be a part of what makes working here at Camp ASCCA worth it.
Today, I had the opportunity to spend most of the morning down at waterslide and tubing. Tubing is one thing campers do not usually get to enjoy except for here at camp. As many campers were getting in and out of the tube and going out into the middle of the lake there was one camper that wasn’t to sure about going. Our camp director, Matt Rickman, came down to watch all the campers enjoy their time out in the tube. Matt got to talking to one of the campers who wasn’t sure about going and finally convinced her to go with him. Seizing the opportunity, Matt quickly found a lifejacket and was in the tube in no time. Seeing the look on that campers face made me realize how something so small as tubing out on the lake that anyone may have the chance to do anytime they want can make such a huge impact on someones life.
After supper it was time for the annual talent show. This is always a campers favorite!! Many campers and cabins have been preparing for this night all week! Make sure you keep checking back for the video that will be uploaded soon of tonights performances! 🙂
