Yesterday we were visited by Pilot clubs, and today we had Elks join us for the day. We had visitors from Elks clubs in Dothan, Mobile, Alexander City, Gadsden, Bessemer, Marion County, Anniston, Cahaba Valley, and Auburn-Opelika. We had multiple tours going at once and some even staying at the waterslide all morning to watch our campers have fun!
The tours started at the OutPost since donations from the Elks helped to fund the construction of our new structure. We headed to arts & crafts next where campers were making boats and racing them in the Panning for Gold water trough. After watching campers go down the zipline from the arts & crafts porch, the tours headed to splash pad and horseback.
Some of the tours went all the way to our demo farm to check out the animals. After everyone was finished looking at camp, we met back at the dining hall for a group photo. Some campers even photobombed the second photo the group took!
While some of the Elks were touring, others stayed at the dining hall all morning to grill hamburgers for our campers and staff. They all stayed to eat lunch with us as well. We are glad we could have a visit from the Elks and we thank them for all the support they give Camp ASCCA. We hope to see them again soon!
Be sure to check our Flickr, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for updates on the rest of our summer activities!
