April is the National Autism Awareness month! This means that all month long community awareness and fundraising events are happening throughout the state. The Autism Society of Alabama hosts Walk for Autism events which is a fun and informative way for communities to come together “to help solve the puzzle of autism disorders.”
I have participated in many of these events over the years on behalf of Camp ASCCA. It’s a great way to spread the word about camp to parents, kids and the general community. On April 9th, I had a Camp ASCCA exhibit table at the Walk For Autism in Madison. For anyone effected by autism, I strongly encourage taking part in an Autism Walk event. It’s an upbeat atmosphere, the parents and kids have a blast and there is always plenty of information on available services.
I am available to speak for any club or group interested in Camp ASCCA and my presentations can be tailored to your specific needs. For more information, please email: allison@campascca.org
