Waterfront Training

The waterfront is one of the most beloved locations at Camp ASCCA! Campers look forward to sliding down the water slide going down the hill and going tubing in the lake for the entire year. It takes much knowledge and practice to know how to effectively transfer a camper into a small inflatable boat and tube. Today, the aquatic staff taught the counselors how to properly perform the task with Camp Director Matt Rickman alongside.

Counselors learned how to adjust the transferring skills they have been gaining this week for the slide and lake. Each transition is different and requires counselors to be careful and confident. They all attempted both transitions and practiced until they could do it correctly. Counselors were taught that they are to keep their campers close at all times, especially near the lake. Counselors were able to experience the joy of going down the slide today and realized why it was a camper’s favorite activity all week!
