Why would you want to work at a place like Camp ASCCA?

Lately I was asked the question, why would you want to work at a place like Camp ASCCA? Well, I’ll give y’all the short version of why I love ASCCA. This picture is from my last camper over the summer and this was my “I get it” moment. I got what it meant to be a part of the staff here at camp. This is Cristy, one of the happiest girls I’ve ever encountered. When I met her father that Friday to take her back home, I cried. A 19 year old bawling her eyes out because this girl taught me what it means to happy in every situation no matter what it going on. Camp ASCCA will always have a special place in my heart and I look forward to coming back this summer to be a counselor. So why do I love camp? This is a place where campers can come and have fun, forget about all of their daily struggles and make memories and friendships that will last a long time. Some of these campers ended up being some of my best friends that I could ask for. These campers have the same interests as you.. They love eating pizza, swimming in the pool, and talking with their friends. No matter what, I will love all of these campers because they have truly made an impact in my life.
