This past Sunday our Administrator, John, and Director of Marketing Communications, Dana went to the annual Alabama Elks Association’s “Wil Lane Stoke & Smoke Cookoff.” They raised over $3,000 for Camp ASCCA!
The Cookoff is held annually in memory of Past State President Wil Lane, who was a member of the Dothan Elks Lodge.
There were five competition categories with 1st-3rd place trophies. The four categories are chicken, beef, pork, and rib. The fifth category was the overall “Grand Champion.”
A Roebuck Lodge team won first in the chicken category. A Florence Lodge team won first the rib category. An Anniston Lodge team won first in the pork category. And a Tuscaloosa team won the beef brisket category. The overall team winner was the “Second Hand Smoke” team from Decatur!
