Some of our best friends here at camp are the animals.
Each week campers come to camp and step out of their comfort zones to try things they never dreamed about doing. Horseback riding is one of those things that most campers are terrified of, but after meeting our horses Lexie and Leo they fall in love.
Horseback riding is a free choice activity that campers have the choice of signing up for. When campers arrive to horseback they put a safety belt and helmet on then wait for their turn to ride Lexie or Leo. After their ride and of course a couple of pictures (Lexie loves to have her picture taken) the campers get to pet, hug kiss or sometimes feed the horses a special treat before having to say good bye.Leo LOVES when his camper friends bring him treats!
A lot of our campers have never been near a horse which is extremely intimidating. We are extremely proud of all of our campers as they step out of their comfort zones to try new things while here at camp.
Everyday is an adventure here at Camp ASCCA and we are glad to have all of our friends, including Lexie and Leo to go on adventures with.
