Camp ASCCA had the privilege of hosting the annual Hall Foundation event from May 19–22. This special week brought together participants from the Dothan, Montgomery, and Muscle Shoals Therapeutic Recreation Centers, students from the University of North Alabama, and various Camp ASCCA staff members.
On Monday afternoon, our campers arrived excited and ready for a fun-filled week! Many of these participants have been attending Camp ASCCA for years and know the grounds like the back of their hand. It was wonderful to welcome back so many familiar faces.
After settling in and spending time with friends in the gym, everyone gathered in the Dining Hall for a pizza dinner. The evening ended with a camp-wide pool party! Campers took their swim tests and then dove into the fun. With our lifeguards on duty, everyone had a safe and memorable time.

Tuesday morning marked the official kickoff of the week’s activities. After a delicious breakfast, participants headed off to program rotations, including tubing, the water slide, and a relaxing boat ride on beautiful Lake Martin. The weather was perfect, and the water activities kept everyone cool and refreshed.
That afternoon, we offered a variety of free-choice activities. Options included the demo farm, swimming in the pool, playing at the splash pad, pickleball, and time in the game room—something for everyone! We ended the day with a camp favorite: the talent show! Campers showcased singing, dancing, and even cabin skits. It was a fantastic way to close out a nearly perfect day.

Wednesday brought even more excitement with program rotations featuring the zipline, boat rides, and karaoke with shaved ice. After lunch, campers and staff visited the ASCCA T-shirt room to grab the latest ASCCA merch. Everyone left with something new—and we can’t wait to see them rocking their gear!
Before we knew it, the day was winding down, but not without one last event: a dance party at the BcK4T. Tre kept the energy high with music that had everyone dancing all night long!
As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Thursday arrived far too quickly. We shared one last meal together before parting ways. Time truly flies when you’re having fun—and that’s exactly what this week was! Though our time together has ended, the memories will last a lifetime.

We look forward to hosting the Hall Foundation each year, and this year was no exception. They’re the perfect group to kick off our summer season. Thank you to our campers, staff, and UNA students for creating such a positive atmosphere and giving us all an unforgettable week. We’re already counting down the days until next year!
This incredible week was made possible through the generosity of the Charles and Isabel Hall Foundation. Since they began giving in 2000, they have supported Camp ASCCA for nearly 30 years. Since 2016 alone, they’ve contributed more than $115,000.
Thanks to organizations like the Charles and Isabel Hall Foundation, Camp ASCCA has been able to serve individuals with disabilities for nearly 50 years. We are forever grateful for their unwavering support.
